ANALYTICAL EQUIPMENT DATABASE

Need a special analysis or a specialist to solve a tricky characterisation problem?

Search MaCH2, the analytical equipment database!

What is the goal of this tool?

  • To allow people to find the location of specific equipment and the right contact person.
  • To help determine the adequate instrument for solving specific characterisation problems.
  • To increase chances to find a research team that can provide expert knowledge.

What kind of data does the database contain?

The analytical equipment database lists instruments from EPFL, ETHZ, Empa, PSI and CSEM available to industry and/or academia.

Besides technical data and contact information application examples are described for each instrument including properties that can be measured and materials that can be analysed.

Who may be interested in using the database?

Individuals from industry looking for a special instrument or for an expert.

Individuals from academic partners will also be interested in such a tool to help them find instruments in other labs. Whether looking for an expert or to conclude shared maintenance contracts with manufacturers; when planning to purchase equipment or when equipment is out of order; this database can be useful in many situations.

Who participates in the database?

Laboratories from the five partner institutions of CCMX (EPFL, ETHZ, Empa, PSI, CSEM) collaborate in this project. To ensure accuracy, the data is managed directly by the persons in charge of the instruments.

How can you access the data?

Laboratories choose the target audience for each instrument, i.e. public or academia. The instruments that are “public” are accessible without login via the CCMX home page (www.ccmx.ch). Individuals from academia can have access to more instruments by requesting a login.
